Sarah Abrigada is a Swiss singer, recording artist, vocal coach and choir director. Her musical work moves between jazz, soul and pop. She performs original compositions alongside new interpretations of familiar songs, in settings that range from an intimate duo to a quartet. Across those formats, she pays close attention to melody, rhythm and the way a song’s words meet the voice.
Her first album, Book of Love, brings these influences together. The record features pianist Claude Diallo, bassist Luques Curtis and percussionist Tupac Mantilla. Their different musical backgrounds meet in a shared understanding of song. The album moves between quartet and duo, original pieces and covers. It is a portrait of Sarah’s musical life and the people who helped shape its sound.
That collaborative work also reaches the stage. Sarah has performed with Claude Diallo Situation at Eisenwerk in Frauenfeld and Kult-X in Kreuzlingen. At Jazzmeile Kreuzlingen, she appeared with Claude Diallo Situation and saxophonist Nicole Johänntgen. Other selected performances include a 2025 duo with Claude Diallo at the Reformed Church in Ziefen, and the symphonic program The Energy of Cinematic Melodies, presented with choir, wind orchestra and video projections in St. Gallen and Arbon in 2026.
Sarah studied voice and vocal pedagogy at the Zurich University of the Arts, where she completed a Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy with distinction and received the Werner and Berti Alter Foundation award for teaching. She undertook three years of study at the Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen and qualified as an Authorized Complete Vocal Technique Coach. From 2016 to 2018, she studied Speech Communication and Rhetoric at the University of Regensburg; in 2023, she completed a CAS in Rhetoric & Moderation at MAZ, the Swiss School of Journalism.
For more than 20 years, Sarah has taught voice and piano, directed choirs and led workshops in singing and performance. Her current work includes teaching voice training and solo singing at the Schwyz University of Teacher Education, directing the University of St. Gallen choir, and founding Discover Your Voice, an online vocal academy. She also teaches privately and works as a vocal coach and guest lecturer. Her performance and teaching work both centre on technique, expression and stage skills.
